SAN FRANCISCO (Legal Newsline) – “Sorta sweet” tea made by Keurig Dr Pepper has too much sugar, class action lawyers are alleging.
Lawyers at Reese LLP and Sheehan & Associates sued the drink manufacturer on June 24 in California federal court over the product line Straight Up Tea. Dr Pepper’s label claims the product is “sorta sweet.”
“In fact, the Products are high in sugar to an extent that belies the sugar content representations made on the Products’ front labels,” the lawsuit says.
“Plaintiffs would not have purchased or paid more for the Products had Plaintiffs realized that the Products were high in sugar.”
The lawsuit claims violations of California consumer protection laws.
