JACKSON, Miss. (Legal Newsline) – Exxon Mobil has filed a lawsuit in federal court that seeks to give it an edge in a 31-year-old, $50 million dispute.

Exxon sued Crosby-Mississippi Resources in 1989 over what it said were broken oil and gas exploration agreement in Pearl River County.

Thirty years later, CMR and other parties were required to provide Exxon with financial assets that detailed their net worth.

In a complaint filed June 18 in Jackson, Miss., federal court, Exxon says transfers it discovered from CMR to several parties in the past few years have been fraudulent.

Exxon wants those transfers voided pursuant to the Mississippi Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act.
