LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) – A class action lawsuit alleges NastyGal.com deceives shoppers into thinking they are getting bigger discounts than they actually are.
The lawsuit filed May 26 in Los Angeles federal court says the bargains on the site are exaggerated by original prices that rarely or never have been listed. The company was founded in 2006 in San Francisco and sells women’s clothing and accessories.
“In other words, Nasty Gal’s ‘sale’ is not really a sale at all,” says the lawsuit, filed by attorneys at Almadani Law and AI Law on behalf of plaintiff Olivia Lee. “It is a scam. All the reference prices on Nasty Gal’s website are fake.”
The website boasts sales like “60% off,” but the sale price is ultimately 60% of a price that is inflated, the lawsuit says.
