Lawsuit: Febreze car freshener is actually an oily mess

EUREKA, Calif. (Legal Newsline) – Procter & Gamble is facing a class action lawsuit that says its air fresheners for cars are faulty.

Three women filed the case May 11 in California federal court through lawyers at Adhoot & Wolfson in Los Angeles, alleging P&G’s Febreze product that clips to the vents in a car leak oil.

“Defendant represents that the CAR Vent Clips ‘work in virtually every vehicle’ and are ‘safe to use,’” the complaint says.

“Unfortunately for consumers, this is false and misleading. Defendant’s CAR Vent Clips are not ‘long-lasting’ and are far from ‘mess-free.’”

The oil that leaks from the clips damages the interiors of cars, the lawsuit says. Online complaints notified P&G of this problem, but it did nothing to remedy it, the lawsuit says.
