WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Legal Newsline) – A South Florida law firm alleges a Beverly Hills media company owes more than $280,000 for an alleged breach of contract.

The Lomnitzer Law Firm PA filed a complaint Jan. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida-West Palm Beach Division against Malibu Media LLC, alleging breach of contract.

According to the suit, the Lomnitzer Law Firm and Malibu entered into an agreement on May 26, 2017, for the firm to provide legal services regarding litigation across the country. On Oct. 31, 2018, the parties signed an addendum to the original agreement outlining Malibu's payment to the firm.

Lomnitzer alleges Malibu has circumvented the agreement and had attorneys in various jurisdictions to "by-pass the firm" and "remit settlement monies" from litigation to others rather than Lomnitzer, who had paid litigation costs on behalf of Malibu. The plaintiff alleges it terminated its representation of the defendant in Aug. 30, 2019.

Lomnitzer seeks $280,058.32, interest and all other just relief. It is represented by Jerold Schneider of Jerold Schncider PA in Boynton Beach, Florida.
