NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) – A noted risk adviser and litigation practice group leader will be one of the panelists during next month's Private Director Symposium near Times Square in New York.

Elizabeth Vandesteeg, a risk adviser and litigation practice group leader at Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Helsinger, will be one of four panelists on the evening's first panel during Financial Poise's Private Director Symposium from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at 5 Times Square in New York.

Vandesteeg is the Chair on Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice at Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Helsinger. She specializes in areas of data security and privacy, as well as bankruptcy and commercial litigation.

The evening's first panel, "Cybersecurity & Data Privacy – For the Private Company Director," will also feature Cassandra Porter, senior privacy counsel of Americas at Cognizant; Kari Rollins, a partner at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP; and David Ross, a principal in Baker Tilly Virchow Krause's Richmond, Virginia, office.

The Private Director Symposium likely is attracting the attention of New York City tri-state area corporations using - or thinking about using - private directors attorneys in their mergers, acquisitions and cybersecurity. The so-called "Brave New World of Cybersecurity" continues to be a leading company threat for directors, according to a report issued late last year by the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Scheduled panelists during the evening's second panel, "Mergers & Acquisitions Considerations – For the Private Company Director," are Bruce Werner, managing director of Kona Advisors LLC; David Wells, a partner with Ernst & Young and former longtime Cantril Investments director; Sandra Mayerson, a member at Mayerson & Hartheimer; and David Lallouz, a partner with Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP.

The event includes a cocktail and networking session.

Tickets are available online and start at $195.
