TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division has filed a lawsuit against an online designer eyewear sales company for allegedly violated the state's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

According to the Attorney General's Office, more than 100 customers of Luxury Retail Sawgrass LLC DBA Sunglass Oasis, owned by Samuel Florens, did not receive the ordered eyewear they had paid for or they received eyewear but not the glassed they had purchased.

The company, based in Sunrise, Flordia, in many instances, promised replacement or refunds to the customers but failed to keep those promises and eventually stopped all communications and failed to respond to calls and emails from consumers, the Attorney General's Office said in its complaint. http://myfloridalegal.com/webfiles.nsf/WF/TDGT-B5LQ6W/$file/Sunglass+Oasis+complaint.pdf

The Attorney General's Office  also alleges that once Sunglass Oasis learned of the many consumer complaints filed against the company, they shut down their website and opened a new one while continuing its deceptive business practices.

The lawsuit seeks to permanently enjoin Sunglass Oasis from further online marketing and sales, plus civil penalties.
