PHOENIX — The state of Arizona's civil claims against the governing board of the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) pertaining to the selection of construction managers for projects at two local schools have been settled, according to state Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

Brnovich's office said the settlement shows no findings by the court that the SUSD violated Arizona's school district procurement code, although the attorney general had launched an investigation to review SUSD's purchasing and contracting activities for construction of school facilities.

The consent judgment, which is in force for three years, includes SUSD annual training for procurement and financial staff, procurement examinations above statutory requirements, as well as SUSD paying $5,000 to the attorney general's Antitrust Revolving Fund, Brnovich's office said. SUSD is also released from all past acts relating to the civil claims in the attorney general's complaint.

According to the Attorney General's Office, the SUSD has established a new second construction manager at risk (CMAR) committee to re-score proposals previously submitted for its Cheyenne Traditional School project.
