PHOENIX - An Arizona HVAC installation and maintenance company has admitted to making thousands of illegal telemarketing calls, according to state Attorney General Mark Brnovich and has agreed to pay $150,000 in civil fines.
According to consent judgement with the Arizona Attorney General's Office and Orangutan Home Services, Inc., the company will pay civil fines for the telemarketing calls made to Arizonans listed on the Do Not Call Registry.
“People have a reasonable right to privacy in their own homes and an expectation to not be continually hounded by illegal telemarketers,” Brnovich said in a statement. “We will continue to enforce Arizona’s telemarketing laws but we also need the federal government to step up and do their part. Companies need to know there will be consequences if they continue to harass Arizonans with illegal phone calls."
Orangutan's $150,000 civil fine will be used to enforce and take actions against illegal telemarketers, the Attorney General's Office said.
