ATLANTA (Legal Newsline) – An Atlanta resident alleges a debt collector harassed her with dozens of calls.
Lashanna Williams filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division against A&T Corp. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant has called her 100 times in an attempt to collect a debt through the use of an automatic telephone dialing system.
The plaintiff holds A&T Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to call her after she spoke with a representative and demanded it stop calling and invaded her privacy.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, treble damages, enjoinder from further violations of these parts and any other such relief the court may deem just and proper.
