BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) – A bank headquartered in Amman, Jordan with a federal agency in New York is alleged by U.S. nationals to have provided and administered financial services to terrorist organizations.

Nathan Pam, Raziel Pam, Neemah Pam Fisher, et al. filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Arab Bank PLC citing the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that between September 2000 and December 2004, many American citizens were killed or maimed in Israel, including their family members. They allege the defendant "knowingly provided substantial assistance to those acts of international terrorism," the suit states.

The plaintiffs hold Arab Bank PLC responsible because the defendant allegedly provided assistance to Hamas and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades by transferring money, maintaining bank accounts and providing access to U.S. dollars and the international banking system.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages in amounts to be determined at trial, plus pre- and post-judgment interests, treble damages, costs of this action, attorneys’ fees, such other and further relief as justice requires. They are represented by James P. Bonner of Stone Bonner & Rocco LLP in New York; Richard Heideman, Noel J. Nudelman and Tracy Reichman Kalik of Heideman Nudelman & Kalik PC in Washington, D.C.; Mark S. Werbner of Sayles Werbner P.C. in Dallas, Texas and others.
