PHOENIX – The state of Arizona has filed a consumer fraud lawsuit against a Texas travel company, alleging it charged high school students for a senior class trip and then left the students and chaperones stranded.
According to Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, EB Worldwide LLC., charged a group of 65 Arizona high school students $34,000 for a class trip vacation package with hotels and admission to Disneyland and Universal Studios. However, on the day of the departure, EB Worldwide failed to provide buses and left the participants stranded in the parking lot without any notice or explanation.
Also, according to the attorney general, more than a year later EB Worldwide has not resolved the issue even after promising the students a resolution.
According to the lawsuit, the state seeks consumer restitution, injunctive relief, attorney fees and up to a $10,000 fine for each violation of the state's Consumer Fraud Act.
