BOISE, Idaho (Legal Newsline) — Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden announced June 1 that Steven J. Hernandez, a clock repairman in Boise, will settle allegations he allegedly closed his business while still in possession of consumer property.

According to Wasden’s office, Hernandez shut down his clock repair business in 2017. At the time, Hernandez allegedly was still in possession of hundreds of clocks that needed to be repaired.

As per the settlement agreement, Hernandez must refund consumers’ money, return their property and change his business practices.

Consumers must file complaints by July 23 to be a part of the settlement. They can arrange for pickup or delivery. Hernandez must return all items and, if he cannot return the property in the same condition he received it, he must pay the item’s current fair market value to consumers.

In addition to returning items, Hernandez will need to refund money paid to him for services he never performed.

This settlement was worked on by Wasden’s Consumer Protection Division.
