NEWARK, N.J. (Legal Newsline) – A Union County, New Jersey consumer alleges that a San Francisco company sent unwanted text messages.

Rashid Sahito filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on April 27 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey against DoorDash Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

The plaintiffs holds DoorDash Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to send text messages without prior express written consent from class members, continued to send messages after several requests to stop, and invaded the personal privacy of class members.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant; certify the case as a class action; award of actual, statutory and treble damages; injunctive relief; interest; and further relief as the court deems necessary. He is represented by Ari H. Marcus and Yitzchak Zelman of Marcus & Zelman LLC in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
