Advanced Micro Devices Inc. processors are defective, consumers claim

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Legal Newsline) – Two consumers allege that core processors they purchased are defective.

Nathan Barnes and Jonathan Caskey-Medina filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division against Advanced Micro Devices Inc. alleging breach of implied warranty, breach of express warranty and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendant sold defective core processors that were not merchantable and were unfit for ordinary purposes because of the Spectre Defect.

The plaintiffs they and class members "suffered injury in fact and a loss of money or property as a result of the defendant's conduct."

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant, award monetary relief and damages, declaratory relief, costs and attorneys’ fees, and other relief as the court may deem appropriate.
