Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer alleges it is owed more than $1 million for legal services

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) – A New York City law firm alleges a Republic of Congo limited liability company failed to pay it for its services in a legal matter.

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Equatorial Congo Airlines, SA alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that since March 2015, it served as the defendant's counsel in connection with litigation, advice and counseling to issues concerning the re-financing of an aircraft and other related matters. The suit states that pursuant to agreed written contract, the plaintiff sent 13 invoices detailing work performed, list of costs and disbursements to the defendant, but the defendant allegedly made only one payment. The plaintiff alleges it is owed more than $1 million.

The plaintiff seeks an award for damages in the amount of more than $1 million, plus attorneys' fees, costs incurred and grant such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Jeffrey A. Fuisz and William Madden of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP in New York.
