ATLANTA (Legal Newsline) – Former dancers/entertainers at a gentlemen's club in Sandy Springs, Georgia, allege they were not paid wages or compensation.

Tina Barronton, Jorgette Celardoin, Rachel Chrisman and others filed a complaint on Oct. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division against Flanigan's Enterprises Inc. of Georgia, Mardi Gras Management Inc., Michael Fulton and P.G. Phifer alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendants mischaracterized and misclassified all dancer/entertainers as independent contractors instead of as regular employees at their Mardi Gras gentlemen's club. As a result, the plaintiffs allegedly failed to receive any wages or compensation and the defendants failed to pay payroll taxes for which they would have been liable.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek an award for liquidated damages, lost wages, benefits, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Harlan S. Miller of Miller Legal PC in Macon, Georgia.
