TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Oct. 23 that her office is seeking refunds of more than $200,000 for consumers victimized by an alleged air conditioning sales scam perpetrated by Complete Eco Home Services LLC, doing business as the Green Club Home Services LLC.

According to Bondi’s office, the Palm Beach County sales and marketing company and owners duped elderly and low-income consumers by making false promises. The defendants would purportedly induce these consumers to purchase air conditioning units by claiming the units came at no cost or for minimal monthly installments. Additionally, the defendants claimed the products were more energy efficient and could substantially lower consumer utility bills.

According to Bondi’s office, the defendants would then dupe consumers into signing loan authorizations. Consumers would be on the hook for significant payments they were previously unaware of and had never authorized.

“Taking advantage of seniors trying to save money on their utility bills just to make ends meet is immoral," Bond said. "We will not allow anyone to get away with deceiving our seniors to make a quick buck.”
