CHICAGO (Legal Newsline) – An Orland Park, Illinois, consumer claims that a security system he purchased is defective.

James Anderson filed a complaint on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated on Aug. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Logitech Inc. alleging unjust enrichment, violation of consumer protection laws and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased a Logitech Alert System with four cameras and began experiencing problems with the system soon after purchase. He alleges that had he have known the system was defective, he would not have purchased it.

The plaintiff holds Logitech Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inform the plaintiff that their security cameras have a high rate of failure and that the software needed to run the machine had several bugs and glitches.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, actual, treble and punitive damages; restitution; interest; injunctive relief; declaratory relief; all legal fees; and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Gary L. Specks of Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP in Highland Park, Illinois.
