ST. LOUIS (Legal Newsline) – A St. Louis consumer alleges that an Idaho business made false claims regarding its potato products.

Nancy Albright filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Aug. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Lamb Weston Inc. alleging violation of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she purchased the defendant's Alexia sweet potato fries, which were labeled as "all natural." She alleges the fries are not all natural because they contain xanthan gum as an ingredient, which is a synthetic thickener.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Matthew H. Armstrong of Armstrong Law Firm LLC in St. Louis and Stuart L. Cochran of Steckler Gresham Cochran PLLC in Dallas.
