Bed Bath & Beyond sued over materials in pillows

MIAMI (Legal Newsline) — A Florida consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against Bed Bath & Beyond, alleging negligent misrepresentation.

Candace Hardy filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, June 21 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. alleging it made false claims regarding the materials used for its pillow products.

According to the complaint, Hardy was damaged monetarily from being misled into purchasing a falsely advertised pillow product. The plaintiff alleges Bed Bath & Beyond misleads consumers by advertising its pillows as being 100 percent Pima cotton despite only containing two percent Pima cotton.

Hardy seeks trial by jury, to enjoin the defendant, actual damages, court costs, interest and all further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorney Angela Arango-Chaffin of Miami Beach, Florida.
