BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) — A New York consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against Costco, alleging negligent misrepresentation.
Michelle Sweeney of Plainview, New York, filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated June 5 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Costco Wholesale Corporation, alleging falsely advertising the contents of its liver pills.
According to the complaint, Sweeney was damaged from purchasing a falsely advertised liver pills product. The plaintiff alleges Costco wrongly labeled the product despite it only having a fraction of the ingredient silymarin.
Sweeney seeks trial by jury, compensatory, exemplary, statutory, incidental, consequential, actual and punitive damages, interest, court costs, restitution, enjoin the defendant and all further relief the court grants.
