Customers accuse Hyundai of unjust enrichment

LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — Two consumers have filed a class action lawsuit against Hyundai, alleging breach of warranty, fraud and unjust enrichment.

Houston Vinci of Oregon and Jaehan Ku, a Korean attending school in Oregon, filed a complaint individually and on behalf of those similarly situated, June 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Hyundai Motor America and Does 1 through 100, alleging they manufactured and sold defective vehicles.

According to the complaint, Vinci and Ku were damaged from purchasing Hyundai vehicles that had a defective steering mechanism. The suit says Vinci bought a 2014 Hyundai Accent and Ku purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendants knew of the defective nature of their vehicles but failed to fix the defects.

Vinci and Ku seek trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, monetary damages, court costs and all further relief the court grants. They are represented by attorney Barbara A. Rohr of Faruqi & Faruqi LLP in Los Angeles.
