OMAHA, Neb. (Legal Newsline) — A Nebraska beef association is suing a state agency and official, alleging violation of federal law.

Nebraska Beef Producers Committee filed a complaint May 30 in U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska against Nebraska Brand Committee and committee Executive Director William Bunce, alleging they enforced an act that burdens the plaintiff's business.

According to the complaint, the Nebraska Beef Producers suffered damages to their business because the defendants enforced the Brand Act, which violates the Constitution.

The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendant, all legal fees, and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Katherine J. Spohn, Blake E. Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Jacobson of Bruning Law Group in Lincoln, Nebraska.
