Hobby Lobby named in pricing lawsuit

SAN DIEGO (Legal Newsline) — A San Diego woman has filed a class action lawsuit against Hobby Lobby, alleging negligent misrepresentation and violation of state law.

Chrisitina Chase filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, May 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., and Does 1 through 50, alleging they fabricated the sale prices of their merchandise to mislead consumers.

According to the complaint, Chase was damaged financially from being misled into purchasing falsely priced merchandise. The plaintiff alleges Hobby Lobby and Does 1 through 50 offers their merchandise at a "discounted" prices but this was actually their regular prices.

Chase seeks trial by jury, restitution and disgorgement of all profits, injunctive relief, order the defendant to engage in a corrective advertising campaign, court costs and all further relief the court grants. She is represented by attlorney Todd D. Carpenter of Carlson Lynch Sweet Kilpela & Carpenter LLP in San Diego.
