Law firm accuses Time Warner of phone harassment

ATLANTA (Legal Newsline) — A law firm has filed a class action lawsuit against Time Warner and other companies, alleging violation of federal law and violation of telephone harassment statutes.

The Law Offices of Shimshon Wexler PC in Decatur, Georgia, filed a complaint, on individually and behalf of a class of similarly situated persons March 24 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against Aicom Solutions LLC, doing business as a Aicom Corporation, Time Warner Cable LLC, doing business as Spectrum, Time Warner Cable Medica LLC, Charter Communications Inc., Charter Comunications Operating LLC; and John Does 1-10, alleging they sent advertisement facsimile to the plaintiff in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 14, 2016, the Law Offices of Shimshon Wexler received at least one advertisement via facsimile. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally sent an exclusive offer of bundled services such as telephone and Internet services to the plaintiff via fax.

The Law Offices of Shimshon Wexler seeks to appoint the plaintiff as representative of the class, damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of suit and all relief deemed just and proper. It is represented by attorneys Julia L. Titolo and Phillip A. Bock of the Law Offices of Shimshon Wexler Bock and Hatch, Lewis & Oppenheim LLC in Chicago.
