EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (Legal Newsline) — A man has filed a class action lawsuit against Pinnacle Foods Group LLC, citing alleged negligent misrepresentation.

Arron Korte recently filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated in the Illinois' Circuit Court for the 20th Judicial Circuit against Pinnacle Foods Group, alleging that the New Jersey business misleads consumers into purchasing their product by making false claims to the actual contents of their product.

The lawsuit was removed by the defendant to U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on Feb. 23.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained damages from purchasing a falsely advertised product. The plaintiff holds Pinnacle Foods Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly advertises their Wishbone dressing product to contain extra virgin olive oil when in fact it only contains water and a blend of cheap soybean oil.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks profits, injunctive relief, restitution, disgorgement, statutory damages, monetary damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Brian T. Kreisler of The Kreisler Law Firm, LLC in O'Fallon, Illinois, and Sean K. Cronin of Donovan Rose Nester, P.C. in Belleville, Illinois.
