Florida customer accuses Cheesecake Factory of violating federal law

MIAMI (Legal Newsline) — A Florida man has filed a class action lawsuit against the Cheesecake Factory, alleging violation of federal law.

Dr. David S. Muransky of Broward County filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of others similarly situated, Jan. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against The Cheesecake Factory Inc., alleging the defendant issued receipts that contain sensitive information about their customers.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 22, Muransky was issued a receipt which contains sensitive information of his credit card. The plaintiff alleges the Cheesecake Factory, issues receipts to its customers that bear the first six digits of their credit card as well as the last four digits, placing the customers in risk of identity theft.

Muransky seeks trial by jury, statutory damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Keith J. Keogh of Keogh Law Ltd. in Chicago.
