LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A California consumer is suing Lendingtree, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Jackie Winters filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Jan. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Lendingtree, LLC and Guaranteed Rate, Inc., and Does 1 through 10, alleging they called plaintiff's residential telephone to sell their services.

According to the complaint, in November 2015, Winters suffered monetary damages from having her privacy invaded by receiving numerous unwanted calls. The plaintiff alleges the defendants attempted to sell their services to the plaintiff despite being on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Winters seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages for each violation, treble damages of $1,500 for each violation and all further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorney Todd M. Friedman of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills, California.
