CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Legal Newsline) — A North Carolina man has filed a class action lawsuit against Walmart, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Curtis Neal of Charlotte filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of others similarly situated, Jan. 17 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., doing business as Walmart, alleging the defendant called the plaintiff's cellular telephone asking for a woman named Angelica using an artificial voice.

According to the complaint, in September 2016, Neal suffered monetary damages from receiving unwanted phone calls on his cellular telephone. The plaintiff alleges Walmart contacted him despite having no prior consent to place those calls.

Neal seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, damages, treble damages, court costs, interest and all other relief the court grants. He is represented by attorneys Wesley S. White of Law Offices of Wesley S. White in Charlotte, and by Aaron D. Radbil of Greenwald Davidson Radbil PLLC in Austin, Texas.
