LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A California woman is suing a marketing company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Vanessa Garcia of Ventura County filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Jan. 3 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Signpost, Inc. and Does 1 through 10, alleging they called the plaintiff several times in an attempt to sell their services.
According to the complaint, in March 2016, Garcia suffered monetary damages from receiving several unwanted phone calls and was charged for the incoming calls. The plaintiff alleges the defendants kept calling her using an automatic telephone dialing system despite not having any consent from Garcia for those calls.
Garcia seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Todd M. Friedman of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills, California.
