LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A California woman is suing a loan company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Jackie Winters of Canoga Park filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Dec. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Loandepot.com, LLC, and Does 1 through 10, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in calling her several times in an attempt to sell their services.
According to the complaint, in November 2015, Winters she suffered monetary damages from receiving unwanted calls on her home phone. The plaintiff alleges the defendants continued to call Winters despite her request to stop calling and despite being on the Do-Not-Call registry.
Winters seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages for each violation, $1,500 in treble damages, and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorneys Todd M.
