LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) – A Nevada couple allege the Hyundai Veloster Turbo they purchased is equipped with a defective transmission and has filed a class action lawsuit.

Nicholas Wylie and Shawna Wylie filed a complaint on behalf of similarly situated individuals on Nov. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Hyundai Motor America alleging breach of warranty, unjust enrichment and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they purchased a vehicle in 2015 that was equipped with a defective seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. The plaintiffs hold Hyundai Motor America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inform the plaintiffs about the nature of the transmission and that had they known, they would have not purchased the vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek enjoin the defendant, disgorge the allegedly ill-gotten profits, restitution, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Jordan L. Lurie, Tarek H. Zohdy, Cody R. Padgett and Karen L. Wallace of Capstone Law APC in Los Angeles.
