TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Oct. 26 that Vanity Cosmetic Surgery Inc. will settle allegations related to its refund and cancellation policies.
Vanity Cosmetic Surgery does business as Vanidades Cosmetic Surgery, West Dade Surgery Center Inc., Broward Cosmetic Surgery Inc., Encore Plastic Surgery Inc., The Center for Cosmetic Surgery Inc., Florida Aesthetic Surgery Center Inc., Cosmetics Miami Inc., BC Surgical Center Inc., Ismael Labrador and Aimee De La Rosa.
According to Bondi’s office, Vanity Cosmetic Surgery deceived consumers who sought refunds. The company allegedly failed to clearly and conspicuously disclose all material terms and conditions of transactions, failed to honor its refund policy, failed to honor consumer refund requests, and failed to issue promised refunds.
Vanity Cosmetic Surgery did not admit liability but voluntarily entered an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance. As per the settlement, the company will clearly and conspicuously disclose all transaction terms, stop making claims that its products are free if they are not, and ensure all of its marketing materials are accurate.
