SAN JOSE, Calif. (Legal Newsline) — A California man is suing Samsung, LG and related companies, alleging unfair competition and violation of state and federal law in deliberately keeping salaries low.

Andrew Amirnovin of San Mateo County, California, filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all other persons similarly situated, Sept. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against LG Corporation and Samsung Group, alleging the defendants engaged in an agreement with each other to provide fixed compensation to their employees to avoid competition.

According to the complaint, Amirnovin suffered financial damages from not having equal job opportunities. The plaintiff alleges the defendants conspired against their employees to employ them without providing a salary increase or better job opportunities.

Amirnovin seeks trial by jury, damages, restitution and disgorgement, an injunction against the defendants, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Jason S. Hartley, Jason M. Lindner and Julie A. Kearns of Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP in San Diego.
