TAMPA, Fla. (Legal Newsline) – A Hillsborough County, Florida, consumer alleges a debt collector has called him approximately five times a day for three years.

Michael Perez filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division against Navient Solutions Inc. and Student Assistance Corp. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in June 2013, he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls per day from the defendants. The plaintiff holds Navient Solutions Inc. and Student Assistance Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact plaintiff's cellular telephone and continued to do so after he revoked his consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Amy Ferrera of Morgan & Morgan Tampa, PA in Tampa, Florida.
