Consumers allege certain Honest Co. products contain non-natural ingredients

LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) – Consumers have filed a class action lawsuit against a California company alleging it deceptively and misleadingly marketed its products as "natural."

Candace Hiddlestone and Julie Hedges filed a complaint on behalf of all those similarly situated in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Honest Co. Inc. alleging violation of California's Consumer Legal Remedies Act, California's False Advertising Law and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from being misled into buying falsely advertised products such as diapers, hand soap and dish soap. The plaintiffs holds The Honest Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly claims that their products are natural but certain products contains synthetic ingredients given a hazardous rating by the Environmental Working Group.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek declaratory and injunctive relief, enjoin the defendant, restitution and disgorgement, order the defendant to engage in a corrective advertising, actual damages of at least $5 million, punitive damages, court costs and interest plus any further relief this court grants.
