SAN DIEGO (Legal Newsline) — A San Diego man is suing a tobacco company, alleging false advertising regarding the amount of nicotine in its products.
Michael Chahini filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated and Roes 1 through 100 Aug. 1 in the Superior Court of California for County of San Diego against Haze Tobacco, LLC and Does 1 through 100, alleging unfair competition and false claims regarding the amount of nicotine and the origin of their products.
According to the complaint, Chahini suffered financial damages for being misled into buying a falsely labeled product. The plaintiff alleges the defendants say their product contains 0.05 percent of nicotine but actually contains double that amount.
Chahini seeks a trial by jury, damages, restitution and disgorgement, declaratory and injunctive relief, all legal fees and interest and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Craig M. Nicholas, Alex Tomasevic and Lacy Wells of Nicholas & Tomasevic LLP in San Diego.
