DENVER (Legal Newsline) — A Colorado company has filed suit against Tribune Broadcasting Co. LLC, claiming that the broadcasting company allegedly made defamatory content about the plaintiff and broadcast it via its channels and various websites.

Dish Network LLC filed a complaint June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the District Court of Colorado against Tribune Broadcasting Co. LLC, claiming unfair competition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Dish Network LLC suffered damages to its business as the result of false and deceptive content being broadcast regarding its service and performance. The plaintiff holds Tribune Broadcasting Company LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly issued false claims and defamatory contents to damage the plaintiff's reputation after a contract with the plaintiff expired.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary damages including damages from the plaintiff's increased expenditures, lost revenue, damages to the plaintiff's reputation in an amount in excess of $75,000, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. The plaintiff is represented by Richard R. Patch and Rees F. Morgan of Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP in San Francisco.
