LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) – A California woman has filed a class-action suit against a maker of products for infants over allegations its products are falsely advertised as natural.
Veronica Brenner filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Procter & Gamble Co. alleging violation of the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was misled into buying Pampers Natural Clean baby wipes that were advertised as natural, but upon testing it was found that the wipes contains unnatural and harmful ingredients. The plaintiff holds Procter & Gamble Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly made false claims about its product being natural when it contains purportedly harmful ingredient phenoxyethanol, which allegedly could cause harm to consumers, especially infants.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, statutory, and punitive damages, injunctive relief enjoining the defendant, interest, restitution and any other forms of monetary relief, court costs and any further relief the court grants.
