BOSTON (Legal Newsline) - A law practice is suing a Houston consulting firm, alleging unpaid legal fees.
Ropes & Gary LLP filed a lawsuit Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts against K&S Consulting of Houston, alleging breach of contract, account stated, and quantum meruit.
The suit states K&S was a client of Ropes & Gary from 2013 to 2015, during which time Ropes & Gary performed hundreds of hours of legal work on behalf of K&S. The suit alleges K&S paid the first three invoices sent by Ropes & Gary but has failed to pay any amount for 31 invoices dated from March 25, 2014, to March 18, 2015, totaling an unpaid amount of approximately $2.33 million.
Ropes & Gary seeks to recover the unpaid amount, plus interest, attorney fees and costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys James M. Wilton and Jonathan R. Ference-Burke of Ropes & Gary in Boston and Washington, D.C.
