Alice Dale
SALEM -- Well-known trade union leader Alice Dale is considering joining two Democrats in a tussle for party endorsement to succeed incumbent Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers. Dale said she was "actively considering" a run but would make a final decision by mid-October, the Oregonian reported late yesterday (Sept. 25). She was formerly head of the Oregon Public Employees Union and is currently president of the SEIU Local 49. Law professor and former federal prosecutor John Kroger officially announced his Democratic candidacy last week, LNL reported, after months of speculation. Three-term state Rep. Greg Macpherson confirmed his bid last month. No Republicans have announced their candidacy yet or even publicly expressed interest in an AG run, although the name of five-term state Rep. Kevin Mannix has been floated.
