Soloflex ads draw Oregon fine

Bad vibrations Best be careful if you plan to sell vibrating platforms to the disabled and elderly in Oregon. Diligent Oregon Department of Justice (ODoJ) workers recently spotted an ad for Soloflex platforms in publications distributed in Oregon, "depicting an elderly woman holding her walker in the air while standing on a narrow vibrating platform." The department subsequently found that the Soloflex ads contained information from the U.S. Surgeon General and the American College of Rheumatology that "couldn't be substantiated." Soloflex must now pay the ODoJ $100,000 and cite clinical trial results for its health-based claims. It must also monitor its own compliance with the settlement and substantiate all future claims and invoices for consumers.
