BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) - An almond milk producer was sued last week over allegations the product isn't all natural as advertised.
Claire Harlam filed the lawsuit against Blue Diamond Growers alleging its Almond Breeze Almond Milk contains artificial ingredients and chemical preservatives.
Blue Diamond puts an “All Natural” display on the label of its almond milk even though the almond milk contains four ingredients -- including potassium citrate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D2 and D-Alpha-Tocopherol -- that are artificial, synthetic or chemical preservatives, according to the lawsuit.
Blue Diamond sells about 18 different flavors of its Almond Breeze Almond Milk, which all contain the four ingredients. The lawsuit alleged customers were deceived by the all natural label.
Harlam is seeking class status and more than $5 million in damages plus court costs. Harlam is represented by Taylor Asen and Jonathan W.
