BOSTON (Legal Newsline) - A pet merchandise store filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against a company alleging patent infringement over its pet ramp and steps product.

PetEdge filed the suit against Sky Billiards, which does business as Best Choice Products, alleging Best Choice infringed on a patent by selling the Folding 2-in-1 Pet Ramp & Stairs product.

PetEdge claims the steps are very similar to its Renew Rampsteps. Both products are for the use of pets to climb up to higher areas such as beds. PetEdge claims it invented the folding pet ramp and steps apparatus, and owns the patent to the product.

The lawsuit asks for damages relating to the infringement, but does not specify a specific amount.

PetEdge is represented by Erik Paul Belt and Bonnie A. Vanzler, of McCarter & English, of Boston.
