GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Legal Newsline) - Comfort Research sued Ace Bayou Corporation on Dec. 9 for allegedly violating patent and copyright laws with the sale of a frameless chair.

Comfort Research manufactures, distributes and sells frameless furniture such as beanbag chairs, loungers, love seats and pet beds worldwide.

The company alleges that Ace Bayou began selling a frameless chair that infringes on Comfort Research's intellectual property and patents for its Big Joe Milano Chair.

Comfort Research also alleges that the recent recall of nearly 2.2 million of Ace Bayou's chairs following the death of two children hurts Comfort Research, which consumers mistake for Ace Bayou.

Comfort Research seeks injunctive and monetary relief under the Federal Patent Act and the Federal Copyright Act.

Comfort Research is represented by William L. King III of King & Partners, PLC in Holland, Mich.
