Koster
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced a lawsuit on Friday against three telemarketing companies for allegedly violating the state's no-call law.
Named as defendants are: Branson Premier Travel, LLC, doing business as Ozark Mountain Vacation Services; Branson Travel & Cruise LLC, doing business as Knasel Marketing Plus Contact Center; and Super Market Merchandising and Supply Inc. The companies allegedly made solicitation phone calls to Missourians on the Missouri no-call list. The lawsuit also names Kevin Knasel, the owner of the three companies.
The companies allegedly called consumers to solicit vacation packages along with other services and products.
The lawsuit seeks to stop the telemarketers from calling Missourians on the state's no-call list and seeks attorney costs and civil penalties.
"Missourians do not want to be bothered by telemarketers and they make it clear by signing up for our Do-Not-Call list and notifying us when they get the illegal calls," Koster said. "The attorney general's office will continue to take action against telemarketers who do not obey Missouri's law."
