DeWine
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Legal Newsline) - Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced a lawsuit on Wednesday against several Columbus scooter businesses and their owner for multiple alleged violations of Ohio consumer laws.
WTF Motorsports Inc., Columbus Cycle and Christopher Haehn (doing business as Columbus School & Cycle Outlet) and Columbus Cycle, allegedly engaged in misrepresentation and failure to deliver.
"My office will not tolerate businesses that take advantage of consumers," DeWine said. "This individual accepted money for products and services he never provided."
Through his business, Haehn repaired and sold scooters, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles in Franklin County. The business allegedly accepted down payments from consumers and failed to deliver services, goods or refunds. Consumers complained to DeWine's office that they made deposits for services or products that they never received or paid for extended warranties that were not honored.
The defendants allegedly engaged in multiple violations of Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act, including violating the Deposit Rule, failure to deliver, making false and misleading statements, and failure to honor warranties. DeWine's lawsuit seeks consumer restitution, civil penalties and permanent injunctive relief.
