Report: Dominatrix quits N.Y. AG's office

Schneiderman

NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - An assistant New York attorney general who moonlights as a dominatrix has reportedly stepped down.

Alisha Smith quit the New York Attorney General's Office, the New York Post reported Tuesday, after she was suspended indefinitely without pay. The Post broke the story of her side job in September.

Alisha Spark was Smith's dominatrix name, and a source told the Post she was paid to perform at S&M clubs. Employees of the Attorney General's Office are prohibited from taking in more than $1,000 from another source of income.

Smith was not happy.

"All of (the AG's) actions towards me have been extremely disturbing because I have never accepted any money or payment from any outside source for anything while I have been employed by the New York Attorney General's Office," Smith said, according to the Post.

New York's attorney general is Eric Schneiderman. In 2008, Eliot Spitzer, a former attorney general who became the state's governor, resigned during a prostitution scandal.
