McKenna
SEATTLE (Legal Newsline) - A former Washington state litigator is reportedly eyeing the Attorney General's Office.
Bob Ferguson, a King County councilman, is expected to announce his candidacy for attorney general in the coming days, according to a Seattle Post-Intelligencer blog.
Ferguson, a Democrat, is looking to replace current Attorney General Rob McKenna, who is rumored to run for governor in 2012.
According to the Post-Intelligencer, he spent four years as a litigator with Preston Gates & Ellis, now K & L Gates, law firm.
Ferguson is better known, the newspaper said, as "the relentless insurgent" who unseated two incumbent King County council members.
He also is said to have much in common with McKenna.
According to the newspaper, Ferguson, too, was elected University of Washington student body president. He also, like McKenna, made the jump from a law firm to the King County Council.
